Disappointing more than a few fans after his shocking tweet about the next chapter in the “X-Men” franchise, director Bryan Singer may have stepped too far in the eyes of Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult.

The Marvel superhero director released his tweet claiming that “X-Men: Apocalypse,” sequel to “X-Men: Days of Future Past” will premiere in 2016, and this was news to fans, as well as to the cast, who are to work on the flick.

Aggravated by scheduling difficulties, as well as such short notice, co-stars Lawrence, playing Raven and boyfriend Hoult, playing Hank McCoy, may back out of the next movie!

An inside source released a statement about the situation, saying, “[Jennifer and Nicholas] feel they are prisoners of the ‘X-Men’ movies and the director, Bryan Singer,” and “were shocked to see a new ‘X-Men’ film was announced for 2016. Now they have to reshuffle their plans in order to accommodate a June shoot. Jennifer especially is losing millions of dollars by doing these movies when she could have her pick of juicy parts.”

Not to worry though, for although the drama seems to be mounting, Jennifer, 23 and Nicholas, 24, are still very much together, and both actors have the reputation and popularity to choose pretty much whatever project suits them best. We’ll see how it all turns out!
